What "built for Indian roads" actually means on a GOEEN
- design
- engineering
- made in india
- west bengal
"Built for Indian roads" is on every brochure in the market, so it has stopped meaning much. On a GOEEN it comes down to four things you can point at on the scooter itself.
Water, and where it gets in
Monsoon is not an edge case here. The electricals on most of our range are sealed to IP66 — dust-tight, and protected against water thrown at them from any direction. That is the difference between a wet ride and a workshop visit.
Brakes, front and rear
Every scooter we build has a front disc brake, and several have a disc at both ends. On a road that mixes potholes, dogs and a truck reversing without warning, stopping distance is not a spec-sheet number — it is the whole thing.
What it is expected to carry
Two adults and the shopping is the normal case, not the exception. Our scooters are rated to 150 kg, and the NJA family up to 250 kg, because a scooter rated for one slim rider is a scooter that sags in real use.
Built where it is sold
GOEEN scooters are made in West Bengal. The people specifying the suspension travel on the same roads the scooters end up on, which is a duller advantage than it sounds and a more useful one.
Key takeaways
- Built in West Bengal, for the roads around it.
- Electricals sealed to IP66 on most of the range.
- A front disc brake on every scooter we make.
- Rated for the load people actually carry.
